April 22-23, at Fireside Books brings you three diverse authors to inspire your outings!
SATURDAY, April 23, 12:30-4:00 p.m., Shawn Lyons, guru of Alaska’s hiking culture, will be signing his Walk About Guide to Alaska, Kenai & Turnagain; Walk About Guide(s) to Alaska: Chugach Mountains; and Walk About Guide to Alaska: Palmer and Hatcher Pass, intermittently while treating us to his classical guitar stylings.
SATURDAY, April 23, 11 a.m., Jen Funk Weber, wilderness woman and author (Been There, Done That: Reading Animal Signs, and Alaska’s Puzzle Bears), will present a 90-minute workshop on Puzzle Making. “Puzzles–math, word, logic, you name it–approach words, ideas, and literacy in a roundabout way. They highlight the drama of language, the absurdities, the bizarre, and the fun. Puzzles tease us, make us laugh, challenge us, and surprise us. In short, they entertain us while leading us to our destination: literacy.”
SATURDAY, April 23, 4:00 p.m., Jackie Ivie, Grand Dame – and fortuitously, Valley author - of the romance novel (historical, paranormal, brocade, and hunter – too many titles to list) will grace us for a book-signing and chats.
Jackie attended the University of Utah on a full scholarship in Fine Art. She relocated to Wyoming for several years before moving to the amazing state of Alaska, where she now lives with her husband and three very spoiled pets. Jackie has published ten Highland historical romances through Kensington, receiving numerous writing awards. Jackie can usually be found either researching or at a keyboard, writing another historical romance or creating mayhem and murder and other aspects of her Vampire Assassin League series.
