About the Author
Clement Clarke Moore (1779-1863) was an American writer and professor of Oriental and Greek literature. He is best-known for the classic Christmas poem A Visit from St. Nicholas (later known as Twas the Night Before Christmas, which was first published anonymously in 1823.
