This book reads like MacGyver on Mars! The page-turning adventure/thriller of Mark Watney trying to survive against all odds. Be forewarned though, there is a considerable amount of strong language.
This book made me a major Hugh Howey fan! I found myself wondering how the civilization ended up where it was as well as wanting to know all the well-buried secrets within. But it was the characters to whom I grew deeply attached that kept me turning each page rapidly.
A heart-touching story about getting a second chance to say things to those you love but have lost. The new TV show Resurrection is based on this book.
Good for those who don't know very much about the battle on Attu Island during WWII. It is an intense suspense novel.
I loved the main character, a very old man looking back and remembering his unforgotten almost-love. Beyond the characters, the descriptions throughout were simply stunning.
A generally fun read! The author paints an interesting picture of New York during the turn-of-the-century. And the characters! So many wonderful and vibrant characters throughout, especially the titular Golem and Jinni.
Such lovely descriptions of Seattle in the 1920s and the Great Depression! And William, the main character, is so easy to love with his sheer determination to find his mother. I rooted for him on every page!
